Pertenece a la categor\u00eda de los \u00e9teres de glicol, que es una clase de alcoholes caracterizados por la presencia de dos grupos hidroxilo, com\u00fanmente denominados dioles. <\/p>\n<p>El etoxidiglicol es un l\u00edquido incoloro que se utiliza principalmente en f\u00f3rmulas cosm\u00e9ticas por sus propiedades humectantes, disolventes y perfumantes. El uso del etoxidiglicol est\u00e1 restringido debido a la preocupaci\u00f3n que suscita su seguridad, en particular su posible papel como potenciador de la penetraci\u00f3n que puede facilitar el transporte de sustancias nocivas a trav\u00e9s de la piel. Adem\u00e1s, las impurezas asociadas a su producci\u00f3n pueden plantear graves riesgos para la salud.
